If you are a high school student who will be entering your senior year during the summer of 2012, the Cherokee College Preparatory Institute [CCPI] is a great opportunity for you!!

The first CCPI will be hosted at Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah June 17- 22, 2012. CCPI is a partnership between CN Foundation & Cherokee Nation Businesses' Citizen Development Initiatives established to help Cherokee youth reach your maximum potential.

CCPI will be a week of getting ready to apply for college and learning how to succeed once you get there. You will learn about essay writing, financial literacy, interview skills, career development investigations, time management, and dissecting college applications.

There will be a 2:1 student/faculty ratio that will give you numerous opportunities to develop crucial mentoring relationships with college admissions officers and Cherokee business professionals that are assisting with the institute.

You will leave CCPI with a toolbox that will provide you with the organization and confidence to complete any task involved with college admissions. And it will be fun, too!!!!

The Institute is limited to 90 students and in order to reach as many students as possible we will be hosting weekend sessions throughout the 14 counties during the 2012 spring semester. The Junior Achievement course, Careers for Success, will be taught in Ketchum, Catoosa, Sallisaw and Fort Gibson. Students that attend the weekend sessions will receive top priority.
